Zombies (Almost) Ate My Blog Post

Yeah, sorry about that. Last night, instead of writing up a post for this morning, I watched The Walking Dead with TG.

Come on, how am I supposed to resist a good zombie show? Especially one where the hero is named Grimes? I mean, how often does that happen?

See, "Grimes" is always the goofy sidekick. Or sometimes the incompetent bad guy. But the hot hero? Never. Until now!

I give you Rick Grimes:

Gotta support that. I owe it to the family name.

BTW, it really is a good show. (Once you get past the gross zombies falling apart, that is. But you can shut your eyes for that part. I do.) It's highly character driven--there are some great, complex characters--and has conflict out the wazoo.

Funny thing is, I don't even like zombies. But I do like this show.

So, is there a show (or a movie or a book) that managed to grab you in spite of the subject matter not really being your cup of tea?

Omg, omg, omg! Total addict to scary stuffs...you know this! ;) and this show is no exception. It's beautifully complex. And, because I compartmentalize, I hadn't even put together the Grimes and Grimes thing. Love it!

Well boy howdy, if that is Rick Grimes, then I'm watching that show, even though I hate zombies.

And you know, I think I might just have to have a character in one of my books be a "Grimes". That is an awesome name.

DEXTER. i am so not into blood and gore or scary stuff at all, but that show is awesome! i recommend it, even if i can only watch it during daylight hours.

I'm the same as you. I've stomached the show's graphic ickiness because I find the conflict and characters fascinating. I never thought I would like zombies, but Carrie Ryan's FOREST OF HANDS AND TEETH books stole my attention and my heart a few years ago. Highly recommend, if you're open to zombie stories now - which are, at their hearts, stories of human survival in a world gone mad. if they're good.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this show. I though last night's episode was incredible...all about hope. It's funny, because some weeks it seems like they have to work to include a zombie in the episode, since it's really not about zombies.

And I can't decide who I love more. Mr. Rick IHAVETOTRYTODOTHERIGHTTHINGNOMATTERWHAT Grimes, Mr. IAMSOMESSEDUPEVENTHOUGHIAMTRYINGTODOTHERIGHTTHING Shane, Mr. IAMNOTASTUPIDHILLBILLYANDIMREALLYHOTUNDERALLTHISGRIME Darrel...or Mr. COUGARFODDER Glen...

When I first started watching Star Trek, I thought I didn't like Science Fiction. Yeah, so not true!

YES! I really, really didn't want to read Hunger Games. Because I didn't like that a girl would fight to death with other teens, and I thought it would be too violent for me. (Yanno--I prefer romance and stuff like that.)

And what a great episode last night's was! Fantastic showing of Mr. Grimes.

As for the question, none that I can think of off the top of my head. I guess I like all cups of tea. :)

That movie was "Iron Man". I would never have paid to go see it. But it was on at someone's house when we were visiting, and I do like Robert Downey, Jr. A lot. I was hooked in under two seconds.

I've been hearing a lot about this show. I think I'm going to have to try it out!

That show is filmed right here in Atlanta, and I still haven't watched it. Not at all a zombie fan, but I may just have to give the show a look-see. My daughter-in-law is addicted to it, but she loves all things zombie, so her recommendation didn't exactly impress me.

Dang Rick is hot! Zombies and guts aren't my thing (I also don't have someone to tell me when the gross part is over) but I could get behind a photo-essay homage to that tall drink of ...er water.

I just can't do gore. I just can't. My thoughts right now aren't on something that got me that shouldn't have, they're on how sad I am when someone I like a lot (Woody Harrelson) is in something I know I can't bear to watch (Zombieland).

I've seen every episode of TWD! I love scary AND a great story. Also love THE KILLING. Can't wait for that to return.

Haven't seen the Walking Dead yet. I am generally in bed by 830, gotta get up by 430. My favorite show is "The Middle." boring, midwestern, middle aged parents? Yeah. Sounds familiar. ;)
