[I don't blog on Thursdays, so this is a day early. Unless you're reading it a day late, in which case it is right on time.]
For all my writing buddies participating in NaNo this month, here's a little Thanksgiving inspiration for you:
If you're working on a mystery or a police procedural, you might find this helpful:
And for those of you who long for the good old days, a little holiday nostalgia:
(Come on. You made a hand turkey when you were a kid, didn't you? If not, try it now. It's fun!)
Finally, if you just come here for the cheap laughs (you know who you are):
To all of you who don't (or who, like the Canadians, have already celebrated), heck, load up on the goodies anyway. Occasional overindulgence is good for you, and the contrast makes you feel even more virtuous on the days you behave. ;)
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Hope you eat until you bust too. Of course I am ready. I have been dreaming about fried turkey for three days now.
Thanks, and to you as well! We're smoking a turkey breast, and I can't wait for the leftover sandwiches!
Happy Thanksgiving to you as well! I will be spending it with family and friends and then using the rest of the weekend to finish up my current WiP, get out Christmas decorations, and start my holiday baking. Whew! It's going to be a busy holiday! :)

...hugs from lenny
Thanks for the giggle...I can always count on you!
Have a Happy, Happy, Thanksgiving!
I'm going to go home and decorate with hand turkeys now. My mother will be thrilled. Maybe I can convince her my sister did it.
Many Happy Thanks to you!
LOVE the cartoons.
I miss the Far Side.
I know those weren't far side cartoons. But holidays make me think of the Far Side. anyway, back to work.
Heh, heh, heh. Those are pretty funny!
Will I be blasted as "un-American" if I tell you that I'm planning steak and lasagna for Thanksgiving Dinner, 'cause I don't like turkey?
And to cap off that sin, my husband is making dinner ... probably while I blog or write ...
Happy Thanksgiving, Linda! I so enjoy your blog :)
Happy Thanksgiving, Linda. Thanks for being such a good friend for so many years and for the continued laughter. And here's sending that wonderful holiday toast right back at you, Cha-sister!
Love the fun pics! Happy Thanksgiving to you and those you love. :)
ROF,L! Thank you for making me laugh for the first time in days!
Very funny and delightful--the Mae West one with the heads cut off is my particular favorite. Thanks for the gift of laughter. Very glad to be following you.
HA! I love the last one! Happy Turkey Day to you & your'uns! :-)
hand turkeys are the best. i wish the US used hand turkey drawings as currency. think of it, a penny could be a pinkie, the thumb, a quarter, and so on.
let's make it happen.
in the meantime, happy holiday!
