The Happy Hump Day IN A FIX ARC Tour! Plus, a Very Important Dance Question

So, again I want to thank everyone who participated in the ARC contest. That was really fun for me, and it makes me happy that you want to read In a Fix. Like I said, I wish I had a copy to send to each and every one of you.

Alas, I don't. And, frankly, the postage would kill me.

BUT there is a way (actually, a couple) you can still read early, if you're game.

One of my writer friends, the super-sweet bad-ass Karla Nellenbach, suggested an ARC tour. She even said she'd handle the details for me. You know how happy that makes me?

THIS Happy:

It'll go something like this:

1. If you'd like to read the ARC, it will be mailed to you. (If you happen to live in the US, that is. Out of US-ers, stay tuned. There may still be a way.)

2. When you're finished (maybe taking no more than a week? don't worry--I've been told it's a very fast read), you send it to the next person on the list (name and address supplied by either Karla or me via email). I think there'll be a place inside the book where you can sign your name, so I'll have a Really Cool souvenir when the book gets back to me!

3. Sometime in the future (a little closer to the September 4th release date), mention In a Fix on some social media platform, whether it's your own blog, a Goodreads review, Twitter, Facebook, or a bookselling site, like Amazon or Barnes & Noble. Just give your honest opinion of it--you're not required to blow smoke up my nether region.*

That's it!

*Bear in mind that "Boy, that's a book all right--it has pages and everything!" is honest. No need to go into painful detail if you think it's a loathsome piece of ... um, dreck.

So, if you're interested in participating (and I'd LOVE it if do!), just email me at linda(dot)grimes(at)gmail(dot)com, and I'll put you on the list. First come, first serve. :)

Oh, and for book bloggers who may live out of the US, I've learned that In a Fix will be on NetGalley soon(ish). If you'd like to read and review it on your book(ish) site, and don't mind reading electronically, let me know and I'll have my publicist put your name on the list of approved readers.

(In other news, Tor assigned me a publicist! Yes, I've been dying to use "my publicist" in a sentence. Because, whoa, just typing it kind of gives me a little "this is really happening" tingle.)

Let's see, have I left out anything?

Oh, yeah. Today's question:

If you HAD to dance in a public place (we're talking no choice--like, the world would end if you don't), which dance would you choose:

A.  The Charleston

B. The Bump

C. The Hokey-Pokey

D. The Chicken Dance

E. The Macarena

F. I'd Zumba, and pretend it's dancing.

G. All of the above

H. None of the above (heck, the world has to end sometime)

Can I do the Hustle? It's easier on the knees. Plus, I love that crazy seventies hair. And nehru. (I kid. I'm a kidder.)

Also, sent my email. *fingers crossed*

Wait, dance? Oh dear. I'm bad at dancing. Even if I tried, it wouldn't be legit. Sorry world.

The camel picture for today is proof that the world is a funny place! ;)

Well, I live in "the Greater Cincinnati Area", which is home of the Worlds Largest Chicken dance every September during Oktoberfest...so I am REALLY, REALLY good at that, and have participated in performances at many weddings. No sweat.

I'd love that arc. I'll email you soon.

As for dancing -- nope, not a chance. Let the world blow up.

Guess I'm the resident old fart. I'd pick the Charleston.

And I WILL be sending you an email asap! Woo HOO! Sounds like a wonderful idea.

I'll do any dance, any where, any time. I don't even need a cocktail to do so. (but, hey, I'm not inclined to turn one down, either.)

And, sure, I'll read your ARC and pimp it, if you'd like me to. Just let me know and I'll do whatever you need me to.

I'm excited for you, Linda!! :D

Just thinking about doing the bump made me smile. This arc idea is awesome, and having everyone sign...brilliant. Count me in! I'll mail ya:)

I know how to do The Twist. Can I do that? I still look stupid, but at least I know the step(s?).

That's a cute idea for an ARC tour!

I still want to interview you ...

I'd just jump around and wiggle my hips provocatively although, at my age and weight, I'm discovering that when I think I'm really grooving, I'm usually barely moving. The only dance I really know is Nickolodean Junior's crazy dance on Yo Gabba Gabba. Somehow, using the words "Yo Gabba Gabba" and "provocatively" in the same comment seems wrong.

I'm going to go all of the above with copious amounts of booze, of course! I do a mean Elaine from Seinfeld.

Should I have my publicist call your publicist to set something up? (Damn, that felt good!)

Congrats, lady! Can't wait to get mah copy of your book!

Oh, you don't know how much I want to read your book!!! I'd love to live in the US, lol.
If you happen to have a virtual ARC, think of me! :D
And THE MACARENA!! I kinda love that song.
