This Hump Day brought to you by ...

... Kari Lynn Dell, who has a great blog called Montana For Real. I get a serious case of Montana envy whenever I visit her little corner of cyberspace.

Well, mostly in the summer. In the winter ... maybe not. It's still beautiful then, mind you. But when I see that much snow, I figure there must be a snow shovel nearby, and that makes me want to run the other way.

Anyway, Kari was visiting the Calgary Zoo, and saw something there that made her think of me, so she took a picture:

I know. Who isn't flattered to pop into someone's head when somebody sees a camel's ass?

But, as Kari said, it could have been worse. She might have thought about me when she was looking at the hippos. Guess I should be thankful for small favors. ;)

Kari took some other pics, too, which are so cute they almost make up for the one above.

This one is a sexy beast, don't you think? "Hey, baby, want to see me waggle my humps?"

This one looked odd until I realized it was two camels, and not one of Dr. Dolittle's pushmepullyous:

"Come a little closer. I dare you."

Thank you, Kari! Now I want to visit the Calgary Zoo, too.

Happy Hump Day to you all!

Oh, yeah ... the obligatory question. Okay, let's keep it relevant to the post today:

Which animal would bring you to somebody's mind?

Right now on a Wednesday morning where my plumbing is leaking? One of this big, ugly, grumpy looking fish.

hmm. good question. i've been told i resemble a certain hollywood actress, but never been told that when someone sees an animal, they think of me.

well, unless you count the opposite reaction...i'm not a pet person, but specifically not a dog person and often people will see a dog and be like, oh abby, it's your favorite!

I think seeing a pack mule would make my children think of me. "Mommy, can you carry this?" :)

hahahaha! If I asked my husband, I think he'd say a cat.

Bwa-ha-ha!

And it's been a long time since I thought of the Push-me-pull-ya! Thanks for the memory!

Ah, nothing like popping into someone's mind whenever they spot a camel's ass. Great pics. (Made your post a lot easier for the day, too, didn't they?) I'm trying to come up with some witty response as to which animal might evoke thoughts of me, but I got nothing. But I truly hope it isn't an elephant's ass.

No joke, my 1yo is watching me read this while I give him his after lunch treats, and said, "oh, pretty horsey, like mama!!" ;)

Nothing as interesting as a camel's rear end. I think maybe a dog. Mixed breed. Loyal and (hopefully) lovable but without any pure breed airs.

Yay for the Calgary Zoo! I'm not sure what animal I'd bring to people's minds. I'd love to think it'd be something sexy like a tiger, but truth is, it'd probably be a pig thanks to my dirty mind and tendency to guzzle food and booze.

Too funny! I don't know what animal I remind people of. I'm afraid to ask :)

All I can say I I hope it isn't a hippopotamus!

Well, if someone were at a zoo, I'm pretty sure they would think of me when they came upon the lion/cheetah/tiger exhibit. It would be the pacing - the relentless back and forth pacing; looking for a way out - that would make them think of me.

I'm a restless sort, but am very committed to my obligations (first motherhood, now looking after an aging parent) and I'm always planning my escape...one day, one day!

Now, if it was a domestic animal - I'm most definitely what my friends call a loyal "old" mutt - with attitude!

There you have it - me via the animal kingdom.

Great post - love your cute "camel's ass"!

That's an, erm, interesting angle. If she knew me it probably would be the hippos. Big girl, large mouth. Though, in my mind, I'm totally a jaguar.

OK first imagine I'm typing in an Austin Powers accent. Ready? OK ... I AM an animal, baby!

I think some days people would consider me a porcupine cause some days I'm prickly. Can't help it.

I'd have to be a dog. A big old labrador, lying on the porch in the shade of the swing.
