Friday is Out of this World!

NASA has been in the news a lot lately because of their marvelous success with the Mars Rover mission. (If you've been living in a cave, you can read about it here.)

Or, if you (like me) enjoy a humorous take on the subject, you can watch a little video some of the rock stars at NASA put together:

Ha! I love it.

Know what else is kind of cool? My dad (who died when I was twelve) was the photographer who took this picture of the original Mercury Seven astronauts:

Yup, it's autographed by all of them. (My eldest brother has the picture now, which is only right since he's the astronomy geek in the family.) Maybe not quite as entertaining as the Rover video, but I still think it's pretty special.

Oh, and before I forget--I'm over at The Debutante Ball today (it being Friday and all). This week we're discussing bad habits, which has me kind of worried...

Have a great weekend! But before you go, tell me ...

What are your favorite bad habits?

That's an incredible historic picture. Wow. And autographed. Priceless, just not for itself, but in memory of your dad, too.

Cool! We have something in common. My grandfather was also a photographer with a connection to the space program. I have a neat photo as well!

Jennifer -- I know, right? So funny!

Dianne -- Yeah, I guess it is. It's certainly an important part of our family history.

Abby -- It IS cool. Makes me happy, too. :)

Patty -- Yeah, it's a great memento, that's for sure. :)

Michele -- Neato! I love the family connection to the early years of the space program. :)

That photograph is so awesome - talk about a great bit of memorabilia. And the video it pretty sweet too.

I've been thinking of late that as happy I am for you that this year has been so busy and awesome for you (Yay In A Fix!), I sure do miss seeing you around cyberspace like I used to. I'm beginning to need a *fix* of my own...more cigar photos & drink talk!

Miss you Linda but I'm happy, happy, happy for you!

:)

Loved the video! And I love that you've asked for our "favourite" bad habits... not our "worst" bad habits. :-)

My favourite bad habit is eating far too much, followed (or accompanied) by drinking a little too much, all while laughing my fool head off at dirty jokes.

Great video. Do you have other pictures of your dad's. What a cool legacy.

Bad habit - easy, procrastination. I'm so easily self-distracted.

Not sure which I like best... the video or the picture. Both are totally cool. Very neat that your dad played a role in space exploration, and that your family has such a wonderful picture as a memento. Closest my dad ever came to the space program were the times he threatened to kick our butts all the way to Mars and back again. Not quite the same.

Bad habits? I don't have a favorite. I'm rather partial to all of them.

That's a great picture and what a lovely keepsake of your dad.
I couldn't get the video to work. Computers don't like me this week.
My favorite bad habit is working on my blog between calls at work where the internet is only supposed to be used for work related purposes. (No one follows that rule but I still feel sneaky.)

Great video - made me smile.

What a great picture too.

Bad habits? Me? Noooooo, well except for that thing I do whenever ... oh dear I think someone's calling me. Gotta go.

So cool that your Dad took that picture! How fun, Linda!
My favorite bad habits are the two beers I have each night after work. I guess a 10-hour day and two-hour commute will do that to you.
