A Few Wednesday Wants

I want these:

Or maybe this:

Both would be good.

You can get camel pen holder here. Silly? Verging on tacky? Yeah. Still, I might just get it.

Because, yannoh ... I want it.

(The website where I saw the camel pens doesn't seem to have any ordering information. Thus proving The Rolling Stones right: "You can't always get what you w-a-a-a-n-t..." But at least it's a good camel pic for a Hump Day post.)

Okay, okay. Wanting frivolous, camel-related paraphernalia is not as noble as wanting, say, World Peace.

Or Cures For All Horrible Diseases.

I mean, of course I want those things, too. Duh.

But in the Want Department, it pays to have some trivial desires to fill in the chinks. Just a few things you have a snowball's chance in hell of actually getting, because, face it, getting what you want feels good.

And what's wrong with feeling good? Not a dad-gum thing.

If you're into self-denial as a recreational activity, it might help to consider "feeling good" as part of the Essential Human Being Maintenance Package. It's like oiling a fine piece of machinery -- it extends life and improves performance.

Right now I also want a hot fudge sundae, a foot massage, and a clue about a certain chapter in my WIP. I know these things will make me feel good. Bonus: They aren't very expensive.

What do you want? What's cheap and easy, and will make you feel good?

[Aside to TG: If you say me...well, you're probably right. ;) ]

This morning I wanted to sleep in instead of go running. For some reason I'm really tired lately, so I did. And now I've snuggling with girl cat, who's being very lovey-dovey. I'd say it's a win-win!

Someone else to cook the damn dinner for once please.

And yes, you have to get the camel pen holder :)

Hmmm ... I really, really want an email from my agent with good news. And barring that, I want no emails from my agent with bad news.

As for wants I can actually control, I want to watch an episode of Doctor Who with my daughter today. We both just love David Tennant. *wipes drool from face*

Go for the camel.

those camel pens are super cute!

hmm...what do I want? well, first, I want to find ONE SNI and stick with it long enough to finish the danged thing!...then, after rounds of editing, beta reading, and revisions, I'd like to find me a super shiny ninja agent who loves my writing as much as (if not more than) I do. And, then if I still have genie wishes left, I'd like to live long enough to see the danged thing sitting on the shelves at my local bookstore, as well as my second book, and third, and fourth, and ...well, you get the picture.

I don't ask for much, do I? :)

i want to sleep in. i want to know what the learning curve at work to flatten out to a straight line. i want my words to return, the novel to end, the agent & publisher to say yes.

maybe not in that order.

Darynda Jones's new Charley Davidson book, my blog posts for next week to write themselves, True Blood on Blu-ray (seas 1-3), Harlequin's feedback on my chapter (to the tune of, "OMG! We love you! Send your full MS, and another so we can pub you immediately!!!") and another cup of coffee. At least I know that last one is only 60 seconds away...

Erm, yeah, camel pen holder, cool, but I can't stop thinking about the hot fudge sundae. Oh man ... and I'm on a diet too! Now, look what you've done! ;o)

Hmm. A million dollars would be good. A J-Lo booty instead of the droopy white ass I came with.

Something I might actually be able to achieve? I was going to say "time to write", but THAT's as likely to happen as the J-Lo booty.

I'd settle for a thunderstorm or even a rain shower and a day under 104.

Ooh, a foot massage sounds wonderful. I'd also like a taco :)

I want a really big bowl of creamy mac & cheese. Just had some yesterday and it turned my day around because it is the perfect comfort food. Kinda hoping if I make some later it will do the same today.

I want my hubs home. He has been on a business trip for the better part of way-to-long now.

Hopefully Friday is the day I will get what I want. If not, Friday night is gonna see me with a Super-sized Voltage Mountain Dew and two-count them- two bags of salt and vinegar chips.

Yes I will most definitely get a huge zit, but so what. He won't be around to see it. So its like a double score. Sometimes you gotta find the silver lining.

Fun and Fantastic - laughed all the way through!

Love your writing style here...quick and witty - right up my alley (the dark one with creepy crawlies lurking about - I'm in there somewhere!)

Thanks for frequenting my little hovel - you add such perkiness - good word, eh - perky...

What do I want...well, I could use a new rotary saw, and I really would like a set of those adjustable ladders I saw the other day...oh, oh, and I really could use that limited addition Porsche GT911, you know, the one they only made twenty-five of and costs a mere 1.5 mil (US), oh, and World Peace...I’m practicing for when I enter my next beauty pageant.

Great post!

Cheers, Jenny
