So, a friend* shared this with me. Can't imagine why she thought I'd be amused...
Okay, okay. I am amused. Fart references are inherently funny. Ask any ten-year-old boy.
No doubt we decorous (stop laughing!) women of a certain age are supposed to be above this kind of vulgarity. But (heh-heh, I said bu--never mind), seriously? Anything that provides a good laugh without hurting anyone's feelings is all right by me.
If the painting above is too subtle to inspire a raucous enough release for you, there's always createfarts.com, where you can not only customize your own personal expulsion, but you can also email it to a friend! Or a perhaps a cherished family member. Or to someone whose opinion differs from your own, like that agent or editor who didn't appreciate your genius.**
May your Hump Day be full of raucous expulsions! (Of laughter, people. Laughter.)
*Name withheld to protect her decorousness (decorosity?), though she may choose to reveal herself in the comments.
**Not really recommended. The publishing circle is relatively small, and word gets out.
A. Farts are hilarious!
B. I pretend not to enjoy fart jokes, but laugh on the inside.
C. Farts are a part of nature best ignored.
D. Discussing farts is offensive and I will never visit this blog again.
E. I'm choosing "E" because it doesn't contain that offensive word.
A! Farts are always hilarious, but they're best if they're somebody else's and I'm outside the blast radius.
Diane -- *checks off one for "A"* Good point about proximity. There are some inherent hazards to fart humor.
I live with three boys--and a husband--there is not other answer besides A! ROTFL!!!
A - there is also a phone app with 100 different fart sounds. My grandson loves it. I'll have to send him something from creativefarts.com
whoops - createfarts.com - creativefarts.com is something different.
E-mailing farts sounds like the answer ... I don't know what the question would be, but as soon as I hear it, I'll know what action to take.
Not exactly on the same subject, but yesterday's a.m. radio trivia question:
40% of men like it when their woman does this...
Answer: Belches out loud.
So farting would be the same, right?
I'm not sure farts are hilarious - not if you have to live through one of "those" evenings when my husband, son, and grandson are trying to outdo each other. *eyes watering at the thought* But I'm certainly open to a good fart joke. I got a good chuckle out of this one.
Well, some fart jokes are funny. Not all of them.
I can say with authority that ALL fart jokes are funny to fifth grade boys, as are the farts themselves.
