Whac-A-Book!

I am experiencing the very odd sensation of not knowing what the f*** to say.

Here it is Friday, and I haven't posted since Monday.

Well, not here, anyway. I have been a bunch of other places, doing interviews and guest posts, generally popping up and saying, "Look at me! I wrote a book!"

I'm starting feel like some literary equivalent of Whac-A-Mole.

Like if I don't duck back down fast enough, somebody is going to connect with that hammer.

Hope this guy isn't out there in cyberspace waiting for me:

So I'll just put out one last invitation to my very first (!!!) book signing/reading tomorrow (click here for details, or just go to the Events tab at the top of the page) before I duck away again.

I would dearly love to see anyone who lives within a a reasonable driving distance there. I'll even give you (chocolate) kisses if you come. Er, I mean show up. (Sorry. That's just the way my mind works sometimes. Okay, most all the time.)

Oh, and I promise I will get back to non-promotional content on the blog real soon. Some upcoming topics:

  • Advice From an Ass, or How I Learned to Ignore Reviews
  • Shitty First Drafts: Yes, You CAN Polish a Turd!

Which would you like to see first?

shitty first drafts. post it! please.

and after you wow the crowd at your reading tomorrow (good luck, BTW), you'll be signed up for an east coast tour and i'll be able to see you offline for the first time ever! ah, dreams. :)

Break a leg - you'll be fabulous! I'll be there in spirit, since Virginia is a bit of a commute from Calgary.

I'll look forward to both your topics, and thanks for my morning laugh. I find the word "turd" intrinsically funny, and "polish a turd" cracks me up.

Maybe I should do a "turd" post... 'Fraid I never grew out of adolescent potty jokes.

Wish I was closer and both topics will hold my fascination. :o)

Ah, but the trouble with polishing a turd is that in the end, you still have a turd.

Wish I could be there. Break a pencil. (Break a leg for writers.)

I would love to hear how one remains unaffected by feedback. I have recently come to the conclusion that I took some very bad feedback to heart a couple of years ago.

Wish I could stop by, but I'm stuck in Georgia. I have some cleaning/shopping/writing/editing/painting to do...

I like the idea of polishing. Not enough is said about this, and my first drafts ALWAYS suck. I'm just hoping my book is readable by the 30th draft...

Can you tell I'm obsessive about revising? Must be the English teacher in me.

Faced with those two options I think I'll opt for ... the one with most camels.

Alas, I probably couldn't live further away.

There is NO WAY you have received a bad review. Your book is simply too good for that. But, I suppose I would like to hear your thoughts on that.

When are you coming to the Big Apple (or anywhere in CT)?!?!?! I'm dying to meet you in person.
