Wednesday is for Wildly, Wackily Working!

Hey, it can't all be social media fun and games around the interwebz. Sometimes I have to actually, yannoh, work on the books. (I know! What's up with that?)

Got my editorial letter for Quick Fix. Whew! Such a freakin' relief to know Book 2 isn't an utter disappointment to my editor. I mean, I thought it was okay, but you never know, so I was sweating it.

Of course, just because my exceedingly talented (and astute--did I mention astute?) editor adores the book doesn't mean she didn't find room for improvement. Which is good, because that's her job.

So, that's what I'm doing today (and probably for the next several todays)--tweaking, fixing, and implementing said improvements.

But here's somebody to keep you company while I'm busy:

I took this picture at the Reston Zoo last March*. Isn't he cute? If you look close, you can see he's smiling. He wants you to have a Happy Hump Day. And so do I.

* Click here to read--or reread, as the case may be--that post. It has humping tortoises, if that's any incentive.

Oh, wait...I almost forgot the obligatory end-of-post question. Um...

Do you prefer evergreen or deciduous trees?  Bonus points if you tell me why.

Congrats on your editor loving it!!!! Have fun with those edits!!! Deciduous because I love when those leaves fall from the trees in brilliant colors.

ummm...deciduous. Who wants to wear the same color clothes all the time?

Quick! Fix those edits! Get it? Quick Fix? I crack myself up.

Yay for good feedback! Enjoy your work and thanks for the bactrian. Also, both: deciduous for the changing leaves and evergreens for, y'know, the oxygen.

Good luck on your editorial revisions! Those always terrify and delight me -- simultaneously. But it feels so good when you nail them!

He is cute. Kudos for creativity with Wednesday and a camel, lol!

It's always nice to have a book in that your editor likes. Enjoy the tweaks and implementation.

Can I say I like both types of trees? I like them well mixed in the forest. I love the smell of pines, firs, and cedars. I love the big leafy shade from a deciduous and the fall colors. Oh, and the baby leaves in the spring.

Congrats on the good report from your editor! Sometimes editing is as much fun as writing - maybe because you know you get to take your best and make it better.

Trees? Depends on the circumstances. I love deciduous trees for their variety, but evergreens will save your life if you're stranded outside in the winter.

Yes, Canadians really think that way... or maybe I'm just a freak. Or maybe that's not an "or" statement.

I rode a dromedary at a Renaissance fair one time, and I kinda think a bactrian would be more comfortable. Ya know, settle right there in between those two humps and hang on.

For the trees, I adore deciduous trees in OTHER people's yards, and evergreen in my own. Love the beauty of the colors in the fall, but am not a huge fan of raking up all the leaves. Natch, our yard is filled with deciduous. Oh well. The shade they provide is wonderful.

Yea! Now get those edits wiped out. I like almost all trees.

A Bactrian for a change?
The dromedaries will be getting jealous of losing their limelight.

Deciduous. Did I spell that right? I'm not scrolling up.

Because, they give shade in the summer, and colored foliage is the best, and when I have to rake them up, I lose some of the chicken fat under my arms.

Sweet camel.

the double-humps are the best, and I like deciduous because - change! drama!

Okay, seriously, how on earth do you get so many cool pictures of camels?

Evergreen!! Because they are always green?? Well, except when they die. But at least they die standing up, right? Teehee!
