Wednesday? Whoa...how'd that happen?

So, have you missed me?

No, wait. Scratch that. Sounds too needy.

Actually, I've missed you. Yes, you. You know who you are. No, don't look over your shoulder--I mean you. And, if I might I be so bold as to say it, you're looking particularly snazzy today. Is that a new outfit? And have you done something new to your hair? Love it!

(Okay, relax. I can't really see you through your webcam. But, if one is to believe reports, the NSA can, so you might want to nix those naked web-surfing plans...)

Me? Oh, I've been keeping myself busy with this and that.

You know, taking care of business. Spending time with family and friends (both real and imaginary). Pulling people's heads out of camels' mouths (er, so to speak), etc. Becoming appalled at how rapidly time is whizzing by while I try to keep up with it. I mean, come on. 2014? Seriously? How the hell did that happen?

(Oh, before I forget, that first picture up there is from: http://www.idreammortgage.com/2013/07/17/welcome-to-get-over-the-hump/  Not that I'm advertising for them. I've never even heard of them. I just liked the picture.)

Anyway, in between playing nurse for various family members and waiting for my editorial letter on The Big Fix, I've been working on other writing projects. Book 4, of course, tentatively titled Fixer Upper, is my priority. Contracts are highly motivating.

Here's a teensy-tiny bit from it:

"Weightlessness, I decided, was way overrated. My stomach concurred." ~ Ciel Halligan, Fixer Upper

Oh, dear. What has Ciel gotten herself into this time?

I've also been toying with a high-stakes thriller and revamping an old paranormal suspense. Gotta keep some extra irons in that fire!

So, what have you been up to lately? Has 2014 (!!!) been treating you well so far?

Hi, Linda! I HAVE missed you and your blog posts. And I KNOW you do some naked internet surfing late at night. Admit it!

That picture is hysterical, but the caption even more so.

Yes, I know all about the demands of writing under contract. Struggling with it over here ...

Dianne -- Hey, you're not moonlighting with the NSA, are you? *suspicious grin* But, nah, no naked web-surfing for me. It's winter--too cold!

May your writing path be free of major pitfalls! :)

2014 was proving to be an excellent year even without the return of Hump Days. Now it's ... whatever's one step up from excellent.

Yahoo, a Hump Day post! I'm glad you've been pulling people out of camels' mouths. It's so much better than the other camel orifices. And I'm excited to hear about your writing projects - hope we get to see some more soon!

So far it's been same old, same old for me in 2014, and I like it that way. Off to work on Book 8 of my series now...

I know the feeling-- when I've been away from blogging for awhile I really look forward to scrolling down the list and popping in to say hi. Glad to see you here, Linda, and your trusty camel! It sounds like good things are happening in your career, and I really like that sample line!

I'm staying busy, too. Working on one, planning another. And trying to stay ahead of my family. Not easy :)

I have missed you. Every time I see a picture of a camel, I think of you.

And I'm waiting impatiently for The Big Fix.

Hi-ya! HAPPY NEW YEAR! It's sooooo good to hear from you again. The month is flying by much too quickly, but it's been a busy one. Not as productive as yours, though. Can't wait to read the next installment...

Patsy -- Aw, thanks! :)

Diane -- Can't wait for more Hellhound! *waggles eyebrows*

Karen -- Thanks! Don't know where in the book it will go yet, but I can "hear" it, so I know it'll be in there somewhere. Good to see your pixels! :)

Carol -- It's a juggling act, isn't it? Hang in there! :)

LD -- Um, thanks. I think. *grin* (About the camel thing, I mean.) And I hope you'll enjoy The Big Fix when it comes out! :)

Susan -- Happy New Year to you, too! And I can't wait to read your next offering, too -- so get busy! ;)
