A Hump Day Post that Briefly Mentions ALIENS

*Knocks on screen*

Hello? Anyone still out there?

Yup. That day. And I'm still busting my hump on Book 3.

Which means--you guessed it--another sorry excuse for a blog post. But that's better than a sorry excuse for a third book.

This is a dilemma a lot writers run up against eventually. Some of us have a finite number of good words in us per day, and if we leave them on our blogs, the WIP* suffers. (Of course, there are those who have a never-ending fountain of truly excellent words they can strew here, there, and everywhere, and still have plenty of genius left for their WIPs, but let's not talk about them. I suspect they're a weird alien life form that doesn't require sleep.)

Anyhoo, for those of you participating in NaNoWriMo (even unofficially, like I am), hang in there! We can DO this!

For those of you who aren't, I salute your sanity. ;)

*Work In Progress. In my case, THE BIG FIX.

Keep writing. I'm heading to my own writing cave in just a bit.

I'd say "keep on humpin'", but that might be misconstrued... or not... ;-) Happy hump day!

As someone who is waiting for that third book may I say...leave the camels alone for now. Go. Write.

I unfortunately need my sleep.
I don't know bout beauty sleep, but things get very ugly otherwise!

Those of us who do not do NaNo might just be crazy in other ways!

Is it totally wrong that a perfectly respectable (more or less) mature (okay, OLD) woman like me takes such great pleasure in imitating that silly camel from the commercial every Wednesday? Or at least every Wednesday that I remember.

Now, go back and write. I think you're right. I only have a finite number of words in me per day, (although my husband would likely dispute this fact) and I've been using so many of them in emails, facebook, and blogger, the pot's empty when it comes to my WIP. Or W. (Not much P yet.)

GO, LINDA, GO! WRITE, LINDA, WRITE!

@ susan flett swiderski, that is totally acceptable behavior. i know many people of all ages who imitate that HUMP DAY camel. he's infectious. :)

Linda, I'm working on a third book, too. So far, it's been more slippery than a greased pig!

Writing a book takes a different part of the brain I think than blog writing. At least for me. And for a novelist, it's clear which has to come first.

I think your fans would prefer the words go in the novel. :) Good luck on your unofficial Nano.

I have a very limited number of words in me each day - not nearly enough for NaNo.
