I'm not really here, so let's rub some bellies!

I'm still playing with my imaginary people. I figure as long as everyone else in busy "NaNo-ing," I can keep "NotNo-ing."

But since you were nice enough to stop by today, here's a picture of my daughter's cat:

Doesn't she look comfy? Yes, she does like to have her belly rubbed.

Sometimes.

But not always. It's a crapshoot, really, and God help your hand if you gauge her mood poorly.

Do you have a cat? Or a dog? Possibly a ferret or a bird? Rabbit? Do they like to have their bellies rubbed?

Do you like to have your belly rubbed?

(Wait...is that too personal? Should I not have asked that? Feel free to reprimand me in the comments.)

My German Shepherd loves to have her belly rubbed. She makes a pretty ungainly picture, lying on the back with all 4 feet in the air. (If you've ever seen the cover of Gordon Korman's NO MORE DEAD DOGS -- that's exactly what she looks like.)

As for me, I prefer a head rub.

That is the best cat picture ever.

Aw, what a cutie!
We have two cats and one like his belly rubbed. But if he's feeling playful, out come the claws.

Love that cat! I have two cats...one who likes her belly rubbed and one who only lets me sneak in there when she's really sleepy.

My cat sleeps like that too, and no, you cannot rub her belly.

I have hermit crabs.
Hmm...I don't think they even have bellies...

My fish sleep like that sometimes. They are sleeping, right?

My cat loves to have his belly rubbed...so do my dogs for that matter. I guess we're just a belly rubbing family :)

Hmmm. Well, my lab, the lovely Kora, rolls over with four paws in the air to have her tummy rubbed. BUT, when I do it, her face looks so sad and miserable that I'm always wondering if I'm doing it right. But I've tried rubbing, light scratching, massagey-kind of rubbing, and she always looks the same. Any suggestions?! It's so complicated being a doggy-mum. *sigh*.

Both of our cats like to have their bellies rubbed, and they aren't shy about asking for what they want, either. Me, I prefer a pat on the head.

What a great shot this is!

I'm a dog owner - but I love cats too!

You made me laugh with the comment about gauging the mood of a cat before attempting the belly rub.

My friend's cat (my goddaughter - yes, yes, some people see their pets as children) thankfully likes her belly being rubbed, but only if she likes you, then all bets are off!

As to me...and belly rubs...ahh...brings back memories, and I'll leave it there and let ones imagination have a little fun!

Great "NotNo-ing" post!

Cheers, Jenny

Neither of our dogs particularly want belly rubs (they go for head pets and ear rubs). Most of the cats will pounce on fingers that enter tummy territory, except one.

My little orange kitty sleeps in my bed all night. First thing in the morning, he flops over with eyes closed and demands his morning belly rub.

Of course he gets it.

Great pictures. We've always had dogs rather than cats and, yup, every one of them loved to have their bellies rubbed.

That is one great cat picture! Reminds me of my youngest daughters three cats. They are truly interesting creatures.

Aw, that's the cutest pic evah!
I'd love to have a cat. Too bad Hubby's allergic.
And, um, don't rub my belly. LOL

As a former massage therapist I can tell you, not a lot of humans like their bellies rubbed. I don't.
My cat likes his ears rubbed. We have an ear-rubbing ritual that happens when I come home. Usually while I'm still sitting in the car.

My bunny hates being touched, my cat wants me to scratch IN her ears, and I... well there are other places I rather be rubbed than my belly.

Good luck with your NaNo!

If you rub my bellly, I am not responsible for what my spastic hand movements will do to your face. ;)
