A Happy Hump(less) Day Post

I fell down on the job today. *bites knuckle* Mea culpa. I got busy.

But, anyway, Jen Stayrook, aka @JentheAmazing on Twitter, noticed the lack of camelly goodness here, and kindly provided me with this flower camel:

Sure, it's humpless. But, hey, flowers. It's not always about humping, you know. Sometimes you have to mix it up a little.

Thanks, Jen! You're AMAZING. :)

HOT Summer Reading! Well, if you believe the Post Office...

So, yeah, I know I've mentioned this before, but IN A FIX is available as a mass market paperback now. Which makes it less expensive and convenient to haul around to all those places you wind up waiting, wishing you had a book to help you pass the time.

Yup, that's right. My book is officially cheap & easy. Much like the ideal summer girlfriend!

I hadn't actually seen one myself until Tor kindly sent me some of them. The thing that really made me giggle was the box they came in:

Ha! Well, I like to think it's pretty hot stuff, but I had no idea the post office felt the same way.

Anyway, here's a pic of Mini-Fix:

The title is embossed! And gold! For some reason, that tickles me no end. (Why, yes, I am rather easily tickled. Especially my feet and ... never mind. That's a whole 'nother post.)

Wait, what's that you say? Where's the camel pic?

Here ya go:

P.S. As for the news I was hinting at last week...soon. ;)

Today's question:

What do you like to read when the weather steams up?

P.P.S. I've decided to keep the font bigger in deference to those of you who don't like to squint.

Can camels smile?

You decide:

By Kasia from Warszawa (Warsaw), Polska (Poland) (Uśmiech wielbłąda...) via Wikimedia Commons.

Don't know about you, but I'd say the answer is a resounding "Heck, yeah!"

So, why is this camel curving those adorably furry lips? Why, because I whispered something in his ear.

See, I had some pretty good news yesterday. No, I can't tell you any details yet, so I probably shouldn't be saying anything at all, but...well, I just can't help it. Suffice it to say, I'm smiling right along with my Hump Day buddy right now.

Stay tuned! :D

So, what's making your smile these days?

P.S. I pulled the old "this is a short post so I made the font bigger to compensate" trick. Is it easier to read, or does it just look like I'm talking too loud?

Plowing Ahead with Life, Camel Style

I'm not going to bore you with all the details of why I don't have time to write a blog post today, especially since it appears I'm doing exactly what I'm claiming I don't have time to do.

I know! Sometimes I'm just a mass of contradictions. (Shut up. I'm complicated.)

Suffice it to say, Real Life sometimes intrudes on my internet playtime, and this is one of those times.

What little writing time I can scrounge has been spent plowing creative furrows in my current WIPs. (For those who may not know, a WIP is a "work in progress.")

Sooo, for me right now, it's work, work, work...much like my camel buddies here:

(There. At least I got you your camel piccie for the week. I feel better now. Not that I'm OCD or anything. Much.)

OH! And before I forget, I should mention that IN A FIX has been released in two new formats: audio (via Recorded Books) and mass market paperback (the smaller, cheaper paperback--it should be available everywhere the trade paper version was).

BTW, when you click on that Recorded Books link, you will sometimes--but not always--be linked to a part of the site other than the IN A FIX page. I don't know why. Perhaps they enjoy sending people on a treasure hunts. Or they think prospective readers...er, I mean, listeners...enjoy a challenge. It's a mystery to me.

Any big mysteries in your life right now?

Happy Hump Day! Toodles.
